Hi Duck Owners!

I know I've read (recently) some posts about silver phase / gold phase genetics, but I think they are buried in amongst the big WH thread, and I can't find them at this time.

I'm wondering about the way gold phase is passed on. I believe I read it was via the drake? I don't want gold phase, as it can't be shown by the 4-H'ers.

Unfortunately, out of 5 drakes, 4 are golds. My one silver is a robust fellow, but his head is not colored properly for show.

so:

1. If I keep the gold out of TSQ stock, will it pass only gold on?
2. my silver...how difficult is it to breed back to the fully colored head? is it a major nightmare, or a minor blip?
