@Isaac 0
I have Metronidazole 500mg
Cephalexin 500mg
And cefphodoxime Protextil 200mg
Should i start her on one of these? If so what dosage?
Cephalexin is often used for skin infections, but wouldn't be the one I would suggest for you since it is given four times a day. for a minimum of seven days.
You should consider getting Baytril (Enrofloxacin), and start her on that as soon as that arrives. It is given at 0.05ml twice a day, oral, for five days, and will work well at treating bumblefoot infections.

Ok, so I just got done packing the foot, the vet wants to try this salve/ointment stuff looks like tar called ichthamol ointment 20% and remadyl (sp?) for pain. She thinks the ointment will do the trick, wants it kept clean and dry and wants updates.
@Isaac 0 i ordered the baytrill you recommended but it wont be here for 5-7 days (fastest shipping available) so i am hopeful this ointment works, if it does, great if not maybe it will buy some time until the antibiotics get here.
she didnt want to cut anymore on the foot, said if we could treat it this way it would be better and less invasive. She seems to know her birds so i am hopeful this is the right course.

Also some new booties my mom made, they are a little big but they work super nicely, they open on the side, the ones I bought don't and its like trying to push string getting an uncooperative foot in there.

Nice. Kudos to your mom. Hope the ointment works! That would definitely be less stressful for your duck.
