Welsh Harlequin

Hey all, I have possible pips in my broody eggs! I'm too inexperienced to say for sure, so here are pictures!







I'm pretty positive that these three eggs are from my gold phase hen. I say this because I have her and a silver phase sharing a nest, but the gold phase started laying first. The other eggs I candled look to be (from my guess) a couple of days to a week behind developmentally.

When do they quit laying? I am trying to figure out when I need to get more.

I think they lay for two to three years? I might be wrong about that.

Had anyone breed welsh harliquin to a call duck to try and get a mini welsh?

Calls are super annoying and who knows what colors you could get. What you want is a mini appleyard. Same coloration as the welsh harlequin in a diminutive size. And... not annoying. Look at Holderreads for good birds... GORGEOUS.

I've seen them I'm just wondering if its possible to breed them and get them to breed true I know it would take time and lots of breeding but I think it would be awesome to have mini Welsh's

you would get that with mini appleyards. Using calls would just complicate things beyond recognition.
