Does the green on a Welsh Harlequin’s head go more to white during the breeding season? My guy is losing his green and going white.

Polar opposite. Let me guess, this is last springs duckling? The first year drakes do this. They tend to molt into eclipse early - in summer rather than fall. Next year he'll probably pick up his nuptual plumage in late winter and then sync up to handsome in spring and drab in the winter.
PS- the rest of his feathers will also lighten. He'll look more like a female.
