Hello, new here and came in search of some information with our new flock. I have a welsummer and golden laced Wyandotte that are supposed to be pullets from a hatchery. Are these pullets or do I have cockerels? They are 7 weeks old. (The welsummer looks a little rough as she/he is the low man on the totem pole.) Thanks for all input :)

That's too bad! I am not sure what age you're getting them at, but if they're starting to feather out, stay away from any Welsummers with dark feathers on the chest or bright colors on the wings. They grow up to be quite sexually dysmorphic so staying away from what's becoming the male pattern is essential! I am not very familiar with this, but as chicks I believe you can get a good guess on the genders based on their "eyeliner" too with the females having it more defined, but you'd have to look into that! Good luck!

this one I received in the mail at 3 day’s old. Thanks again for the info I’ll keep it in mind if I go after any more of them.
