Since there is no judging going on, why not open the thread to more entries? Why discourage anyone from participating before someone is willing to do the judging?

I like to enter these contests just to see similar birds; it makes comparisons a lot easier.
Besides, if I put any stock in them I would still be waiting for my "cool nicaraguan gift" from the tallest rooster contest!
Folks, just don't ask for names and addresses if you're not going to follow through....I find that creepy.

I debated on whether or not to say anything but what the heck. Let me just start out by saying I'm certainly not saying this because I expect to win or anything.
Now, having said that, I'll just say it just ain't right to not follow through on this to the end. If one goes back and looks at the first post, there was not only a request for people to participate in the contest but there are judges names and even states what prizes would be awarded.
A lot of people put in the time and effort to participate. Some on here may think that it's no big deal and there wasn't that much time or effort put in to posting a few pics but I'm here to tell you that it did take a considerable amount of time for me to participate and therefore I'm sure it did for others as well.
Call me whatever you want to but if this is the way "contests" are run on BYC, it'll be the last time I participate in one. I got a lot better things to do than waste my time.
I hope this is all taken as "constructive criticism". That's how it's intended.

I agree with Tailfeathers and I didnt enter just for the money or expect some prizes. And this person was postponing so everyone gets the chance to enter and all of a sudden there isn't anything valid about this judging contest. I am not happy about it the way it is going because it takes some time to download photos to photoshop and paste it on our entry and let people view it as they like. So why waste our time doing it? If one wants to know what the real Welsummer should look like instead of those drawings, we would be more than happy to post our photos of our Welsummers.
Since I don't think this OP had any intention to follow up the contest, I would just post any pictures of my Welsummers if I see fit in any future contests and omit the rest. Maybe the mods can figure out what to do in those type of bogus contests and probably put some rules to it.

I've never entered one of these expecting a prize. I would put my pictures up and watch the thread even if they just said there was no prize. I just think they are all for fun. I do wonder what happened to the OP though.
