Welsummer hatching eggs or chicks available?

I would love to get some Welsummer eggs or maybe even chicks. I am in Missouri but occasionally visit Chicago. When might you have chicks available or eggs?

Mothergoose, I don't mind at all! Just so long as I am on the list I am a happy camper! Woooo Peeeeee! I can't wait, I am hoping I can get DH to get an incubator so we can do this whenever but ........ I guess I need to wait until we have the coop finished. How do you find the roosters? Are they friendly or disagreeable... obviously there are always exceptions but in general. And how do the hens get on with others?

Featherland,
I put you on the list. My list is getting very long. I am gonna say it will be definetly well into March or early April before I will have eggs for you. I should have chicks available in March. If I have either available sooner, I will let you know.
Thanks for the interest.

Godiva,
Don't worry. You are on the list!

I have only had 1 rooster that ever got agressive, and it was only when someone would get a hen a cluckin' (ex. while takin eggs out from under a hen) and it was'nt all the time. Other than him, all the welsummer roosters we have had, have been very laid back and non-agressive.

As far as the hens, I have never had any trouble with them. I introduce pullets to the flock every year and I have never had any trouble with them accepting new comers.

I don't keep a mixed flock, but I have family and friends that have welsummers in their mixed flock of layers and some with bantams mixed in too and they do not have trouble with the welsummers in the group.

Hope I answered your questions. If you have any others, let me know. I will do my best to answer them.

I have three welsummer roos and they are beautiful! They have not given me or my 11yr old DS any problems either:

I am actually going to have to sell 1 or two of them and I don't know how to choose.

Your welcome. I am more than happy to help encourage this hatching addiction!

I sure am ready for spring, and the hatching frenzy that goes with it!

Okay, this is really off topic, but - mothergoose, will you have any of your Buff Giant Dewlap Toulouse Geese available this year? I was on the list last year, but way down on the list. Plus, we had money troubles and I couldn't get any birds last year. I want some!!! Wouldn't mind some Welsummers, either, but it looks like your waiting list is long for those! LOL!!

Thanks,
DeAnna (Kansas)
