Welsummer Hen-Mid Central Illinois

I am putting up a Welsummer hen for sale. Pick up only!

She was hatched Fall of 2008. Her breeder was Christie Ritter. Her lines goes back to Calicowoods and Barber lines. Lays beautiful eggs but she is broody as they go. I'd rather not have any broody LF Welsummers so anyone that don't mind a broody hen, she would be a bonus. Right now she is not laying, been broody over two months I have no chicks to give her. With a new home, new enivorment, she probably would stop being broody and get back into laying. She has been wormed last spring and dusted a week ago. She is in a molt right now as well.

Oh, I wish I had known. I just got back yesterday from Springfield, Illinois. Was up there for my brother to have cancer surgery at St. John's. (they got all the cancer)

I know Springfield is not real far from Decatur

Nope, it is only 40 minute drive for us.

If she is not sold by then, I probably relist her again soon.

Well she comes and goes and this time she sat for the whole two months but a very poor mothering skills. So it is a NO go for her and I do not have another broody hen that I can trust to care for the chicks. I gave her two chicks and she wanted nothing to do with them. So I am guessing she was not ready yet to take on chicks. so those poor two chicks went to the broody Orp bantam mom.

I am excited about my new chick batch I got from Nate.....got alot of girls in that lot LOL and four roos too!

Both but most of them are LF and three are bantams (hopefully a trio).
