I purchased this pullet as a chick from a local feed store advertised as a welsummer. Is this what they look like as they grow? Or was this mislabeled?

Nope that's not a Welsummer.

The one centered in the photo is not a Welsummer and I suspect it may be a cockerel. How old?

Can you get a pic of the chicken right next to that one? The one with the yellow legs bending over. That may be your Welsummer.

Oh gosh probably a couple months, probably closer to 3 months. Doesn't act very cockeral ish. The one next to it is a "red star" or "cinnamon queen". Those hybrids ended up all just looking like red hens lol.

Ah I see! You're right- a lot of those reddish ones look similar.

I would definitely keep an eye on that one... that coloring is screaming cockerel to me. Too flashy. I agree with that he has some Bielefelder coloring but it almost looks like he has a pea comb in the photo.

Maybe @JedJackson can identify.

I'll be watching this one closely for sure! Hoping its a nice layer, but worse case, chicken tortilla soup.

Looks to be an olive egger cockerel. It has a pea comb, so can't be a Bielefelder.

I think it is a cockerel because the comb is large, and there are deeper red patches on its shoulders.
Thank you! He is pretty! Obviously not what I expected 😂
