rocky mount, va.
I have a welsummer too with 4 toes on 1 foot and 5 on the other. He also has a weird Mohawk look. My kids love the Mohawk look. I have 2 with the Mohawk and have named them animal and hawk (road warriors). Is the 5 toes a serious defect and not let him breed later. Just getting started in welsummer and black coppers. Bought a few of each and gonna raise my own instead of buy..

He can't have a mohawk either. He's X with something. I would definitely not breed him if welsummers are what you are after. The resulting chicks will probably lay very light brown eggs.
This. He's not a Welsummer with those traits, he's a mixed breed. You might want to post pics of your birds to confirm breeds and/or genders.

With the mowhawk and number of toes, he is definitely not a Welsummer, though he could be a Welsummer mix. If you want more real Welsummers, don't breed him, but if you want some pretty mixed breeds, go ahead.

Trying to send pics.

Yep, depends on what you're after. Birds for a meat and eggs sustainable flock can be any breed or mix that you like. His "flaws" in no way affect his health or vigor. But if you are looking to get into breeding Welsummers, you'll want to find a better source for your breeding flock as he's obviously mixed.
