welsummer sexing by color

Somewhere i had read that Welsummer chicks could be sexed by the stripe on their little heads. Has anybody else heard this? If you have, which way does it go?

From what I've heard, it is unreliable at best. Wait a week or two and you will likely be able to tell by the size of the comb.

Doesn't work much. I knew by about 3 weeks who were the cockerels. One had a huge pink comb by two weeks old.

Thanks for the info, was just hoping to be able to tell immediately. I'm not a very patient person.

I've tried with with many Welsummers and I dont rely on that method anymore, just the size of combs and color of breast and bottoms (blacks for males).
