Hi everyone! I'm new to chickens and just got 7 yesterday, including two welsummers from a local hatchery. I think one of the welsummers might be a rooster, but I'm definitely no expert. His tail is more vertical, less eye markings, and feathers look less developed but there's no black on the chest. The hatchery owner said he couldn't sex them but once I got them home and researched it, it seems they are one of the easier breeds to sex based on feather color. What do you all think? The welsummer are the bigger ones and are supposed to be about a month old.

I think the rooster is the one on the left in these 2 pictures.

Here he's looking at the camera so you can see his upper chest.

Thanks!!

Thanks Jeff. It's hard for me to see that the wing feathers are shorter. Is that what you meant? Could it be that this one is really younger than the other welsummer? He's smaller than the other one by a little and the hatchery I got them from just had all chicks of various age together without too much knowledge of how old they are. Are rooster chicks normally smaller than hens or could he be a runt? Thanks!
