What lays speckled eggs? That sounds really lovely having all those different colour eggs!! I think I may just have to include some coloured layers with my orders this spring!

My Barred Rock girls Lexie and Ivy and my RIR Ruby all lay speckled eggs most of the time.

I got a lovely speckled penedesenca egg this afternoon and I often get speckled wyandotte eggs.

Ive only had one welsummer, she's 2 years old. out of kritters flock on the byc forum. she didn't lay until 7 months old, took her first winter off entirely. since about april when she was one year old she's been steadily laying one egg every day even now through the winter. egg aren't real dark but dark enough to distinguish and track from others. very friendly and calm bird. 18 degrees and very windy today and she was the only hen that went and stayed outside most of the day.

she is with a cuckoo maran roo. I thought of hatching her eggs. pullets for eggs and roosters for meat but think I'm going back to tried and true rir or sex links for eggs. I'm tired of having 10 hens and lucky to get 2-3 eggs a day
