welsummers and going broody

You can broody hatch any time of year. I had a mama hatch babies out 2 weeks ago and I think I have another going broody. If she is nice broody, I'm giving her eggs. I have a Dominique who is a mean broody and she tries taking chunks out of my hand if I get close to her. I refuse to give her eggs. My buff and buff crosses all seem to be noisy, but non-aggressive broodies.

OK here’s my problem. I would love to let a broody hatch out and just raise her babies. I have a broody that hatched out four four weeks ago and is a good mama. But they are separated and their own little coop right now. I’m afraid because I have two farm cats and I think they will probably eat the babies. Is that absurd? I mean I see all of these farms but let Mama‘s hatch out and raise the chicks with the flock. Did they just not have cats? Lol

will welsummers go broody? i know that some breeds will not but i was wondering if any one knows if welsummers will go broody. i just bought 6 20 week old welsummers and welsummers mix. i bought them for there dark eggs but was wondering if they would do this.

I have 5 Welsummer that are 8 months and every single one has gone broody this summer ugh. Not the easiest mama's to be around either, at least for me. #psychochickens LOL

All five of my 7 month old Wellies are broody this year.. one hatched a clutch and she was a psycho mama eek!
