I should start by saying I had four chicks from a hatchery that I wasn’t sure which was which breed (2 welsummers and 2 speckled Sussex). Now that they are almost 4 weeks old, I’m pretty certain these two are welsummers. Any ideas on if they are Roos or hens? Picture 1&2 of first chick and picture 3&4 of second chick.

Full disclosure: I have a hit or miss track record on gender ID-ing but I still love to comment and see what other folks have to say.

Four weeks is quite young to tell, but I think you have two pullets.

Edited to add: I love my Welsummer gal. She's a great hen and lays beautiful large dark brown eggs.
