I had my annual eye exam at Wal Mart Vision Center a couple days ago and I "smelled" that all of the "optical" assistants that were working were wearing LOUD perfume.

It seemed liked each one was wearing a different scent. So, as I held my breath and placed a tissue over my nose not to inhale all of the scents while completing my paperwork, I began to sneeze. I walked out of the store to get some fresh air and I went back in. I was then called back to take the "puff in the eye" test. The assistant that was giving the test was also wearing LOUD perfume. I rushed her up so that I could get out of there and get more fresh air.

The doctor finally called me back (thank goodness) so that I could take my eye exam. So at the end of the eye exam, needless to say, I was sneezing, sniffing, rubbing my eyes and had a sinus headache.

I guess they just don't get it. In my opinion, if you work in a customer service field and you will be working directly with the customers/patients, you would think twice about spraying a bottle of perfume on before leaving for work.

I am really thinking about writing a letter to the main Wal Mart Vision Center office and letting them know how I feel about employees who wear perfume when in close proximity of a customer. Now don't get me wrong, everyone there was VERY nice and I give them a 10 for customer service and how they treated me but if I had to return to that store, I would have to say no. And the reason is because I can't handle the loud scents. It made me sick.

Maybe it's just me. Just sayin..........

My sister is the same way. Scented anything in close proximity gives her a huge headache. I'll get that way if it's an overload. But I agree with you really. If they have to wear perfume they should limit the amount or use very light scents. Especially when their job has them getting very close to their customers, and some of them will have allergic reactions to the smells.

Been there!

What makes some one think that something that smells so bad actually smells good on them?

Dittto. Went in last week for the annual blindness check (just kidding) and got a four day migraine. She took one look and declared that I have allergies. No kidding, really? Suggested I wash the insides of my eyelids with diluted baby shampoo daily, and use eye drops.

My 14 year old son inheirited my migraines.

When school started this year he was having them daily.... from the Scentsy wax warmers two of his teachers used. They are now banned from the school after I talked to the principle and nurse. The migraines are less frequent now.

Sorry to hear about your son. YEA that they banned those things from school. I don't understand how people think that someone else wants to smell that crap.

And this is the season where all of the stores have the "Christmasy" scents of spices, cinammon, and all of those other scents fighting each other.

When i was in school we would actuallt get in trouble for wearing perfume to class or spraying it in a class. Teachers where also not allowed to wear it. In high school we had some seniors who thought it would be funny to break like 10 things of perfume all over the second floor after spraying it around. (it was their senior prank) Well they were all not allowed to graduate and everyone was sent home for the day because of it going threw the air system.
