Went into Lockdown today, Anyone else??? *UPDT 12/14-Pics on pg.5

I have been in a staggered hatch lockdown for several days: had a total of 7 eggs due within a few days of each other so now I have 5 in the brooder and 2 not pipped yet in the bator. So far all 5 hatched have been Seramas...1 of the 2 still in bator is a serama too but the other is possibly a silkie/cochin chick that I am most excited about!

I just put 60 quail eggs into lockdown. I am setting Blue Marans eggs in a few days.

So far today (day 19), no pips just locks of rockin.

Should start to see pips tomorrow and probably one or two out with the rest Tuesday.

ya all should be over in the hatching contest! I think there's about 2000 eggs set and more coming with the quails get set!

Mine arent moving- due on the 14th though- I candled them the other day and in the dark shells I cant see anything but a small air pocket at the top-rest is dark- they ok? the white shell eggs-I can see it all- he was kickin his lil tail off!!

I have 5 eggs locked down yesterday!

They seem to be developing on schedule, I was a little worried about fertility so have been candeling.

AND I moved them out of my mini eco to do lockdown in my homemade bator but temps in there are so zone specific...zomgooses they need to hurry and hatch!

I hope all goes well on yours. I am resetting this week with all bantam orpingtons, some projects eggs and a few lav orps just to check fertility with them just coming out of molt. Sure wish my large bama orps would start laying so I could some of those in the bator.

What are you lav orp eggs you are hatching, any mottles??

No mottles this time around- My chickies have almost stopped laying-even with lights...so maybe in a month or so??

I had one more hatch last night: can you help me figure something out...the egg was unmarked...the options of breed are: purebred serama, purebred cochin, or cochin/silkie cross. This little one is gold/blue with feathered legs and golden skin. 4 toes. My cochin roo is red, the cochin hens are gold laced on black, and my silkie is dark partridge. So...if it were to be silkie crossed, what are the odds that it would take so strongly after the cochin side? I'm thinking it is purebred cochin.
