"cage free" is like that pic. "free range" is the same thing, but with outdoor access. However, it's not regulated how much outdoor access so 10,000 chickens could have a small 10x10ft caged area and all of a sudden it's "free range".

I know someone who rescues hens from factory farms, and she was inside a free-range farm. She asked the farmer how the chickens get outside, since it's required that the hens can go out. And he points to a door so small that a hen couldn't even fit through it and says "They never seem to go out though, but I am glad!" And she says "Because the door is too small.. And there are so many hens that they would have to fight to get to the door!" And he says "Maybe, but the inspectors don't know that.."

Is tired of my shyness.. There is a really nice girl who I have SO much in common with! We are both animal rights activists and vegans She and her mom keep coming to hang out with my chickens, since we have a chicken rescue, and I know her mom wants us to be friends. I have talked with the girl (we are the same age too) through email, so I know we both wanna be friends.. But in person, our shyness takes over.. I wish one of us was'n't shy.. At least.. And we are going to the same school next year. Please PM me if you know any cures for shyness

You don't seem like it now. If you truly want to get over it push yourself and don't be afraid to be embarrassed. I got over my shyness. Just think, what is the worst they would do: laugh at you? That won't kill you.
