Heyho BYC international community,
We live on an island off the Australian coast on a beautiful subtropical acre. Our 3yr old grandson's kindy is having an incubation to hatching experience and we are hoping to receive all 12 chickies just before Easter. Until then I'm doing a crash course and reading everything I can about caring for 2-6week olds and trying to keep ahead with the next steps and what they involve. We have a ready-made 8mx5m 2-room coop as we've recently moved onto the island. Now taking the plunge!!

Reading, researching AND joining BYC -- sounds like you are making strong strides in learning how to care for chicks!!

This is an amazing community of welcoming folks who have a wealth of experience and are happy to share their knowledge with others. Ask anything, and someone here will more than likely have an immediate answer.

Hope the hatch goes well and you end up with a full dozen chicks. Please keep us in the loop. And, welcome to BYC!

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Here's our Learning Center. There are many articles there written by our members about raising chicks and chickens. Those should help.

If you don't have a coop yet, here's our Coop forum.

We're glad you're here!
