Mine were recertified about three weeks ago. The first time they came they tested nearly all the chickens I had. I had to help catch and hold them as they do a stick similiar to finger stick on humans except they do it in the wing joint area were there are blood vessels. They test for typhoid and pullorum and then they swap the throats of a certain number to check for AI. The second time they didn't retest the birds that already had bands they just tested all the ones three months and above that had not been tested previously. This year they only tested twenty birds. They band them as they test them. I always make sure my pens have been raked before they come but I do that anytime we having company. They make an appointment to come so it is not an inconveient time. they have always been great to me and I see them at shows sometimes too as they usually have someone out making sure the birds are clean.
By the way they told me my setup was one of the cleaner ones they test.
