the temp keeps climbin and climbin. I've had to turn back the thermostat allmost 3/4 of a turn so far to maintain the temp at 99.5,(there'bouts).(new wafer by the way) It keeps risin over 100. Is this a sign of good LIVE viable eggs ?
I am not going to candle,. I've decided against it. Don't want to disturb things.

The temps will rise as the babies get close to hatching. Think about those warm wiggling bodies in there. Life generates heat! Yayyy for you! Good luck on your hatch!

Thanx Buster and Angie. I figgered it was a good sign of life.

I ama bit confused here tho. I recall reading somewhere that baby chicks are actually cold blooded creatures for a very short time at the beginin of thier little lives. ???

Temps might rise due to the heat generated by developing embryos, but I have had a brand new wafer straight from the manufacturer go bad, lose a seal and lose its ether. Just keep an eye on it and maybe take a whiff through the vent for the smell of ether, just to be safe.
