We're on our way to get the chicks!!! *3 Week Update with new pics!*

2-Week-Old (and two days) update!

Wow, they grow fast. I was just looking at the pictures from last week. They were so cute and tiny. They're still cute, but don't quite look like little fluffballs any more.

(BTW - these pictures are from Monday and they already look a lot different!)

And here's little Callie -

All seem do be thriving. They're sleeping less than last week, and having lots of fun racing all around the brooder (Mommy took out the divider - whee!) and flying very short distances. We've had some little skirmishes, too, and everyone is very skittish. I once tried using my chicken call, and in terror they all fled to the far corner of the brooder.

That will change soon.

Any movement above the brooder sends them flying all over the place.

Three are so far named - Callie

(purple spot on tummy that needs to be re-dyed), Astrid (green spot on tummy), and Crystal (two blue spots on tummy). My brother might have already named his (green spot under wing), but I don't remember.

Oh, they're so cute, crash! What all did you get? The chick in the second picture is sooo adorable! What kind is it?

I got 22 chicks I know for sure I have 5 EE's [ullets and 1 EE rooster. and the other 16 I believe I have some RIR, some orpingtons, some barred rocks, and probably some red stars and also some new hampshire reds, well at least thats what I think Im not 100% sure tho. The second one its a EE pullet. and she is cute!

What are the bluish ones? Are those EE's? Or are they blue Orpingtons or something? Where did you get them?

All the blueish greyest are EE's, I got the rainbow layer pullet from cackle three weeks ago, but since I wanted to get EE's for sure I decided to get 6 EE chicks5 pullets and 1 rooster and like I said 15 assorted rainbow pullets. Its pretty cool trying to guess what your chicks will end up being.

Hey do you know what kind of chick is the one that you have on your pic, the one thats kind of yellowish with two orange stripes on its back, I have 2 like that and I wanted to know what they are, Im guessing some kind of production pullet.

All of mine are Gold Links. They're a type of sex-link.

Well, they're three weeks old today!!! All ten are doing terrific and still so cute. Callie and I went for a walk today outside and she ate all the ants and mosquitos that dared land on Mommy. Yum for her and yay for me.

When I put her down she would sometimes follow me.

They seem to be getting more and more feathers by the day. I had to re-dye the marked chicks a few days ago so we wouldn't lose track of them. I've named another of them - Chipmunk, because she has a dark stripe running down the back of her head. I gave them the mini-roost this morning, which they are enjoying. Whenever the top of the brooder is open, usually at least someone tries to get out.

They've knocked their feeder over several times, and drained their waterer completely twice before Mommy came to fill it again.

Yours are extremelly cute!
I have three that look exactly like yours. One of them always comes running when she sees me, she thinks I have bugs for her, and sometimes I feel bad cuz sometimes I don't have anything for her.
Mine are 3 weeks old today too, they sure grow fast, out of all of the ones I got the barred rocks seem to be the friendliest followed by the sex links, but the orpingtons they think I'm gonna eat them every single time I try to grab them. There still really cute tho,
I just started letting them outside during the day on Friday, they love it, altho there always in conflict with my ducklins and goslings, they fight over the waterer, it's pretty cool watching them defend their waterer, all of the chicks run toward the waterer whenever try see a duckling approching it, the ducklings try to attack but there easily outnumbered it's not til the goslings get there to set order, they grab the chicks by the tail and throw them away but the chicks come back right away, Its the most amusing thing to watch!!!!!
