Yes my green egger. Shes 1 and turning 2 in March. Shes molting right now so I suspect that's the reason. And shes always laid weird eggs. some light color, mega eggs, oddly shaped ones and ones with bumps.Do you know who laid it? Age?
Shell quality can be all over the place in older layers... Are brittle or textured eggs common in your eggs?
I agree that it looks like an oddly presenting calcium deposit.
Would not suspect any issues from this as a one off or in an older layer.
haven't opened it yet but I say it's thin from the rest she usually lays thick feeling ones this one is thin and fragile.I'd say the membrane was not formed correctly/completely,
so it had a bit of a 'tail', then is was shelled.
If you carefully open it, you might be able to tell the shape of the membrane.
How thick is the shell?
