One of my Black Austrialorps ( 1 year old ) is laying the weridest eggs.

Here's what the egg look like:

They are flat'ish on two sides . . . and very large on one end - the other end quickly tapers to a point.
The shell breaks easily and it also has several odd wrinkles in it.
The birds have access to calcium chips.

  • Any ideas what is causing this ?
  • Can I do anything to fix it ?

Ty,

Kevin

First guess stress. Something changed for her. Parasite, disease, flock dynamics. She may just Iron out the wrinkles herself in time.
