Which ones have the clean feet? And right now I have them in aone of those green bottom GP cages with perches and shavings because I have never had pigeons and never thought I wpuld have them! But they were so small and cute i had to! Thanks for the advice on the best place to keep them in the coop. I was concerned that maybe they should not go in there because of diseases that one might get from the other.

That can happen but its rare for disease to be transmited unless its indavertantly brought it, which is why quarenteen is key to healthy birds.

clean feet migh just be because they are young yet, unlike feather legged chickens sometimes it takes a little while for the feathers to come in on pigeons.
My satinettes dont get full feathering on their feet untill they are about 2 months old.
if you go to this site it gives a ton of information on the Owl family of pigeons, they are a very nice bird, I just love the short hook beak. and the satiny look to the feathers.

Thanks for the link. Looks like I need to build an aviary now because I think I may want more of them. Do pigeons only pair up in two's or can there be one male with a few females like with chickens?

if your going to have more than a trio you dould have 1 make for every 3 hens so he doesnt get tuckered out.

Gonna start slow for now till I see if I am sure i want pigeons, but i really like these so far. According to the man I bought them from, they are allready parents and he said if they settle in good, i might see eggs by weeks end!

Everything I had was gone in 15-20 minutes! Even the roos.

Then I came home to one of the 6 week old bantam fav boys crowing, already, in that little pipsqueak voice. Too funny!

Did we miss anything good lol.... Like we need more birds.

I am going to the next NAS tailgate for sure. Went last year and it was excellent! But now I will send my membership dues so I can sell my surplus chooks and plants.
