westie and chicks

i have two west highland white terriors (the female is 4 and the male is 2) and i was just wondering if the chicks would be okay with them around.

It really depends on the dogs... but I would do many supervised interactions before deciding. Personally I would never leave dogs alone with chicks...

Westies are terriers and in my experience have a VERY strong prey drive. They are very good diggers too, so you might have a real challenge there. Anyone selecting a dog breed to guard their flock should be looking at herding breeds.

Not saying other breeds can't be trained, but...

lol we also have a German Shepard. haha, he loves to round up the westies and he seems to be rather gentle and playful :]
