So my nephew comes running in a few minutes ago exclaiming, "Buttercup (our 5 week old BO) is all wet and has bedding stuff stuff in her feathers!" Somehow, the waterer had tipped over and Buttercup was in the path and got drenched. She looked up at me so pathetically - like a shivering, wet porcupine with pine shavings stuck all over her. We wrapped her in a towel and got out the blow drier (on low temp and speed). My husband walked by and commented, "Chicken beauty salon now?"
After a few minutes, Buttercup was all fluffed out and went about preening and eating again as normal as could be. Alls well that ends well.
