Wet feed?

Wet food (i.e. fermented) that you're able to monitor is fine. Food getting wet and sitting in a feeder or under something and going moldy, is not. It's mold that's the issue.

Yes, always remove the food after a short period of time, keep bowls clean. I clean mine once a day.
