Have you treated for Coccidiosis?
You are currently deworming? What dose?

I would give him some white cooked rice with buttermilk in addition to his normal feed.

I did treat for coccidiosis but I’m not sure how much he was getting given his breathing issues. Should I also do a Corid drench tomorrow? He seemed a bit better this evening but he’s not really up for eating much. Spends all his time shaking his head and gasping for air :-( I’ll try the rice and see about finding some buttermilk, thank you!

You dewormed right? Safeguard at 0.25ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days?

With your other hen having the gunk inside her beak, with him having material as well.
Have you considered treating with Metronidazole just in case this is canker?

Such a handsome boy.
I'm sure he will be missed.

I understand if this is not possible, but have you considered sending the body to your state lab for evaluation so you can get answers to what was causing his symptoms? This way you know and may be able to quickly treat others with the right medications if need be.
