Wet Run

Hello we are in Florida and we have had a very wet year, and especially after Hurricane Irma. I have one chicken run where the water is not draining or being absorbed by the dirt. What can I do so that my hens are not walking around in the mud all of the time? The other two runs (one for chickens and one for the ducks) seem to drain or absorb the water fine, it is just my older run that that is not.

Temporarily, you can use pallets to raise them up out of the muck. Long term, depending on the run, if it's fixed or mobile, etc deep litter may be a good option as it creates a more substrate without becoming a mucky mess
