For the past couple of weeks one of the nesting boxes is wet. There is no evidence of an eaten egg, no shells, yolk, etc. The hay & straw is wet; it's kind of a dark spot. The wetness goes all the way through to the floor of the nesting box, so I keep changing the bedding. What could this be?

Is it water wet or egg contents wet?
I can smell a broken egg from the coop shed door, or you might be able to feel if it's water or egg contents.
They often eat most the egg and the shell.

It looks like water but there's a small amount of black residue on top of the straw. Is that a watery poop? I will try to get a pic of it.

Hi everyone. I just took a picture of the wet spot. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Yes some sleep on roosting bar & one or two sleep in nesting box. The poop in the box was always a typical solid poop with white cap. It's only until recently, that this watery stuff appeared. If it is a watery poop, does that mean one of them is sick?
