Wet Vent??

Ok...y'all remember the (in)famous vent thread??

At the time I just thought it was funny. Now that I'm waiting for EGGS I'm remembering the thread was all about wet vents.

What's the significance of wet vents and relation to egg laying??

It was a BYC forum classic - started with someone posting pics of their girl's vent and discussing the wet vent thing. Degenerated rather quickly into photoshopping the pics...I got so distracted by the fun and games I don't remember the actual question and answer that started it all.

The thread has been deleted now, I believe...sorry to tease ya!

If the vent is moist - shiny? sort of then they're laying.
You can totally tell the difference!

I actually would like to know what to look for as well, purely on a need to know basis though. I have two hens that I think are very close but I think a pic would give me a better idea of just how close they are. They are both 21 weeks now.
