WH - Egg Questions

I have a nearly 6-month-old Welsh Harlequin. I also recently acquired a Phoenix hen which is about the same age. Today I found a very dirty egg in the coop. It is nearly white and about the size of a medium chicken egg. I strongly suspect it's my duck's first egg, but it could belong to the Phoenix too (though she's never laid anything that wasn't absurdly small). How can I tell who laid the egg? Will a duck egg have a different color yolk than a chicken egg? Will a duck egg taste different than a chicken egg?

Cracking the egg will be slightly harder if it's a duck egg. There will also be a "wax" on the outside of a duck egg. If you take your nail and scrape the egg some of the "wax" should come off.
