What’s the next big thing after the Orpington craze?

I bet it will be true sex-linked chocolate everything. I think the lavender craze has about played out. I think now that true chocolate genes are in the US it will spread out. Probably from bantams up, since Seramas are the only confirmed ones carrying it.

After doing months of lurking I would say the friendliest bunch of chickens people so far, have been the Orpington crazed ones. I will be looking to get a few come spring. Anyone selling chicks? I like having friendly people to deal with.

Yeah I believe the Lavender craze has been going on FAR too long and will probably die off in a few years. The Chocolate fever will no doubt be insane when it hits the USA though. Remember when Buffs came around? haha. . .

I'm sure as soon as Choc Orpingtons will come around, people will introduce them into every breed they can.

I agree with some of the others that at least some variety of Orpintons will always be a craze, especially as soon as these upcoming Lemon Cuckoos, Mottleds, Jubillee, and Chocolates are available on the market.

On the serama thread the craze is chocolate,blue & sorta kinda cuckoo..I'm kinda surprised that no one has tried lavender seramas but then again seramas change colors every other day so I can understand why..It would be extremely hard with lavender I assume.. I wouldn't mind having some chocolate/lavender orps..

Wyandottes and Orpingtons are my fave in the bigguns..
