What’s causing thin egg whites and soft egg yolks?

I couldn’t eat my chickens eggs for about a week because I had to dose their water with some chlorhexidine (prescribed by their vet). They’re dealing with some fowl pox but I saw that they were getting through it just fine so I stopped the chlorhexidine. I saved their eggs and decided to check the quality of them and see how they’ve changed. I fed them red bell pepper and got a perfect egg with firm egg whites and a red orange yolk. However, the eggs before I gave them some red bell pepper were all watery. Before I even gave them chlorhexidine, their egg yolks would sometimes break. The egg yolks in the picture I attached are also wrinkly and have a white film on top of it. It was really a hit or miss with the quality of the eggs. As far as their diet, they foraged and had layer pellets available 24/7. Is there a sure way to maintain firm egg whites and egg yolks that don’t break immediately? We live in Hawaii so the humidity might also have a play in this.
