What’s going on here ???

My 9 week old cockerel has been doing this motion with his neck for the past 2 days now. It isn’t constant, but he seems to do it when his crop his full? Has anyone ever seen this before??

I haven’t checked lately. I will investigate that tomorrow morning. This little guy has had me concerned over his crop for a while now.

Yes. I thought so too. I have an older post on here about this same little guy when he was a few weeks younger. His crop always seemed mushy & like it hangs incredibly too low. Before he feathered out, I could see his crop even when it wasn’t full because it was bald, no down, no feathers or anything. It was always mushy, & never seemed to go back to normal like his brooder mates.

I am thinking he may have a pendulous crop. Perhaps it is causing it to be slow to empty, not fully emptying.

What can I do?? It’s really full right now, I took the food out for the time being.

How did you correct it? Or did you correct it?

I would first do no food at night and check him in the morning before any food to see if it is emptying.

In your other thread @azygous gave you good info with a link to common crop problems. Did you read through that?
