What’s happening to her eggs

When I only had my 3 Golden Comets. I would buy this.View attachment 1835604. It's readily available in a 25# bag at my Local TSC. It's Non-Medicated in the Gold bag, 18% Protein. I offered Oyster Shells separately.
The Flock Raiser is only available in 5 and 50 pound bags at my TSC.
A 50# bag would spoil before your two hens finished it. I keep feed in my house, especially important during hot/humid weather. GC

Yes, I’ve thrown away lots of feed over the years as New Orleans is hot and humid which is why now I buy small amounts in bulk. I have two local feed stores and will look for your suggested feed this weekend. Thanks again. PS Les, my “sick” hen, laid a normal egg today so I’ll keep track of what’s going on in the nesting box.

Another question, this is the oyster shell product I use. Should I be using something else?

Manna Pro Pullet-Crushed-Oyster-Shell

Thanks
I use the same, but in a 50# bag. 20190212_113536.jpg . I also offer them Poultry Grit separately, I get the 25# bag. 20190212_113457.jpg . GC

The crumbles are a big hit.

The crumbles are a big hit.

We’ve had a few eggs, all perfectly formed. None in a day or two as we had a serious weather event Tuesday night, Wednesday AM. 8 inches of rain in as many hours. I guess severe weather would affect egg production.

Now I have a new problem... my other hen went missing Tuesday midday. I just found some of her feather so it doesn’t look good. So now I have one hen. I know hens are flock creatures. Can Les, the surviving hen, manage as a single chicken for 6 -8 weeks without any companions?

There is a hurricane brewing and I don’t know that I want to take on anything else right now. I’m a paraplegic and some days are way too full.

Thanks!
