Is where I got the photo are you sure it's not a beauceron? By the way don't Australian shepherds that are black and Brown also have white on them?

I'm reasonably certain. The second picture on your link definitely are, and see how the top pup's head and muzzle are more square compared to the two below? And the legs a little proportionately shorter? It might be a not-great picture of an especially blocky pup - after all, not every dog of a breed is standard perfect! - but it's a lot more likely to be a mislabeled picture, or someone saw the puppy's tail wasn't docked and assumed it couldn't possibly be a Rottie.

Aussie spotting is the gene/pattern Irish White, which can be minimally expressed. And not every Aussie has it, folks who use them to work cattle often prefer a solid colored dog. Probably because for a while the fairly famous Hangin Tree kennel was known for its solid merles.

What a sweet puppy! I have used an app to guess what breed my dogs are and it’s pretty accurate for the most part. I put the picture of your little puppy through the scanner and this is what it said. Whatever breed it is it’s sure a cutie! The app is called “dog scanner”. I think it’s pretty cool. Good luck with your little puppy! :love

Was the mother pure Aussie or a cross herself?
He has a shorter coat almost like a rottie or some other type of breed. Very adorable. If you had a picture of Momma dog and the litter mates it would be easier to possibly guess what he is?
His mother was a purebred all black Aussie. I don’t have a picture but there was another tri color that looked like him with a short coat and a few with longer coats. Most of the litter was all black or black with small amounts of white.
