I would like to mount a game camera focused on my chicken coop and run. It needs to be weather and rain proof and I want to be able to watch the footage on my iPhone. Can anyone recommend models? I’d love to find one that meets these criteria but won’t break the bank.

I have used BIGEYED's that were timer driven only. They about 1 year worth of service before crapping out. Currently I am using a Moutrie brand unit that does video clips record sound. See video below for quality of video.

Oh my gosh! Is that an owl inside your coop and snacking on a dead chicken?

It is snacking on a dead chicken outside pens, but in barn where chickens can see it. The owl comes every night for stretches, mostly for mice. Once in a while it gets a chicken; two this year that happen to have been siblings. Still got 6 siblings left but they are the worst about sleeping in owl proof locations.

I use the cameras quite a bit. Owls one of my most frequent visitors. They do a lot more around the chickens than I previously thought. They visit enough that the chickens do not always give alarms.

I use moultrie a5 for hunting, and have used it on my coop as well. One of the most popular game cameras ever built.

You’ll need a micro Sd card reader to use with your iPhone, however. I view on my laptop.

We personally use an older model Wildgame Innovations game camera. We picked it up three years ago and I am completely pleased with it- it takes photos and video. It however takes 8 AA batteries, and I DO NOT suggest using cheap dollar store batteries. They will be drained quickly on a busy camera. Energizers last us best in it. Still works well in rainy days and snow, though it may fog up in the image some. Very clear photos that show date and time stamped onto the image. Pay attention to directions, as I know ours required the SD card to be formatted before use.
