Hubby was making quarantine pancakes. He cracked the eggs into a bowl(not the way I do it, I do each separately). Anyway the egg on the lower left looks odd. it has lighter yellow streaks. It feels like the others, not hard or anything. Any ideas?

Eggs left in a overly warm nest too long before picking up or stored without refrigeration in a warm kitchen can cause this kind of mottling. Stress and overmating can cause it. Some combinations of worming meds and some coccidia meds can cause it.

Ok, so we‘ve had these hens for about 3 weeks. No rooster, but there was 1 where they came from. Eggs are collected almost instantly as my daughter in law has never lived with chickens and is pretty excited about the whole process. The eggs go immediately into the fridge. We don’t wash them as the coop is staying very clean with just 2 hens. Maybe it’s the stress of moving to our place.
