What’s wrong with my chicken?!

Yes crushed oyster shell is provided.

I don’t notice vent pulsing. I can’t feel a stuck egg.

Abdomen was swollen but didn’t seem too hard to me.
This is exactly what I’m dealing with now. Except it doesn’t seem like her abdomen is swollen. I’ve given her liquid calcium citrate, three times now. Once with a little kefir to help her digest it. She’s drinking tons of water today, but no food. Not even scrambled egg. Don't feel a stuck egg. Lubed up her vent. Not sure what else to do.
Did you figure it out?!

Her crop looks very large in the first picture. Can you examine a few others’ crops and tell us what hers feel like. An impacted or sour crop could prevent her food from being digested. Is her lower belly under her vent area enlarged, soft, firm, or squishy? What do you feed her? Here is some reading about crop problems:

Hey crop was completely empty this morning. But then she started drink water, almost constantly, between mini-naps. She laid a soft egg a couple days ago. But as soon as she passed it, she was her spunky self again. started giving her the calcium citrate, as soon as I thought of it!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Now she’s having more issues. I’m certain it’s an egg-laying problem. Just don't know which one. I don't feel an egg in there. And her crop is ballooned with water. I put some calcium citrate in her water & she’s drinking it. Also some ACV.

Sorry, thought that was directed at me, but you were talking about the pictures the beginning poster put up.

My chicken died shortly after I posted this unfortunately. I’m afraid it was Mareks disease.

I’m so sorry. That is always so tough. 🙏🏻😢
I do think my chicken is having laying issues. She has plenty of access to calcium but it seems like she just wasn’t getting decent uptake for some reason. 🤔
I squirted some castor oil up her rear to try and lube things up, after her epsom salt bath. Castor oil is also good for inflammation & has antibacterial qualities. I put the liquid calcium citrate in her water, which she was drinking a lot of. She has continued to drink water, had a giant stinky poop, with a piece of egg in it (no shell). She even took time to preen herself last night. This morning she ate some scrambled egg & was preening again. So I think she’s feeling better. I was extremely worried because she basically napped all day yesterday & fell asleep with her face against the crate bars. 😬
I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing. I hope she makes it. 🙏🏻

She’s continuing to do well. Just not as spunky as she is normally, so I haven’t wanted to put her out with the other chickens yet. I will continue to give her calcium in her water & wait until she seems normal.
She got to be out on the screened porch. Got some fresh air & sun. The foraging chickens walked by. She heard them but didn’t make many sounds, until she heard our rooster. She made many tiny little peeps. Then he tried to jump up through the screen to get her back!! 😂 I’m glad she got to see that. He really wants her back in his flock, but she isn’t quite ready yet.

Was your chicken vaccinated for Mareks disease?
They were not. They were from tractor supply and 3 out of 4 have now died.

First one died at 8 weeks old

Second one died at 6 months olds

And third one just died last week at 8 months old.

Very sad.

We now only have one of the original 4 remaining and we will see what happens.
