I have just moved my coop an my flock to a new location. still within their free range area
Wonder if it is stress related or nutrition deficiency?

Stress can cause pigment issues so I would assume it was from the new location.

"If two eggs come into contact with each other in the shell gland pouch, normal calcification is interrupted. The first egg retained in the pouch will have an extra layer of calcium seen as the white band marking."

That makes sense. Thank you. Hopefully in a day or two then she should return to normal. 👍🏻

Twice when I’ve moved my girls - to their new winter coop last December, then back to summer quarters last month - I’ve had that ring seen on the left egg, followed by the next egg from that hen having a flattened/thin side. (It was a different hen the two times.) There’s a great article here about egg oddities, and both are given as calcification issues related to eggs developing too close together, and can be due to stress. Now I’m off to find the article . . .
Got it! I’d get eggs 1 & 11 one after the other, and your lefthand egg looks like #1: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/common-egg-quality-problems.65923/

(I can’t make out an issue with your right hand egg.)

Brilliant thank you so much 🙏🏼

Just this morning I got another slab-sided egg, and when I looked again at yesterday‘s eggs I found that one I had thought was just dirty did have the white ring on it. So that’s a third time I’ve experienced it. The weird thing is that I can’t think of anything that would have stressed the hen, so it seems to have just happened for no apparent reason. They’ve been out in summer quarters for a month, with no changes to their keeping.
