My chickens third egg, we found it like this… did someone eat it? Or was it a predator? Or did she just lay a funky soft shelled egg

Looks like something ate it, probably a chicken.

I'm agreeing with the frozen egg theory. Looks like it froze, cracked and partially eaten.

I’m assuming that’s what happened yes, do I have to worry about that? Like will they continue that egg eating behavior now that they’ve done it once? I’m very new to eggs so forgive me

They might, best to gather eggs as frequently as possible during freezing temps.

I've dropped an egg occasionally in front of them and mine aren't egg eaters. But don't tempt them! Gather them more often if possible cause frozen and cracked aren't good to save.
