What’s your breeder set up?

I want to fix up my breeder set up for my birds as most of the pairs are in either side of the loft and lay eggs on the ground. What’s your set up like?

I had thought laying on the ground was usually a result of an overcrowded loft. If your loft is not overcrowded, I would check up to make sure your nest boxes are the right sizes, and that you have enough perches for them near and across from the nest boxes. How close are your perches to your nest boxes? A lot of people don't notice this, but cock birds (and even the hens at certain times) do in fact pick their perch based on their nest box's location. Although you will definitely find them picking a perch directly adjacent to their own nest box, they typically like to be separated from their next box by some degree, whether that be one level up or over in the rows or columns of perches. Supposedly this has something to do with security. In any event, I just wonder about your set up in terms of the location of perches and nest boxes. Don't quote me on this completely, do some research, but I think you want perches across from and adjacent to nest boxes, and plenty of them.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Although I posted this video many times before it should give you even more insight into my set up.

Here is another video that makes me proud of my dad O. Murray (RIP) who belong to this group of soldiers. Recipients of the US Congressional Medal of Honour.
