What’s your favorite thing about chickens?

Just wondering, what are y’all favorite things about having chickens! I’ll go first, I love how they always get excited when I go up to the coop. It just makes my day

Although I’ve never been a pet person, I do love a sleeping animal in my lap. Some of my chickens will lap sleep. I usually read.

I love that they lay me eggs, their funny antics, and just all the cool breeds. Especially bantam Cochins which are just adorable.

I love how goofy they are. Each one has such a distinct temperament and it's a lot of fun to watch their behavior. Never a dull moment with them around.

I love how entertaining they are. Like when you see one sprint across the yard and back again and over yonder, all while chasing that one insect that apparently is the last insect on earth. Or when I look down and there are 12 hens pecking my boots. Not once have they ever gotten any sort of food from my boots, but they peck them anyway. Maybe they think I'm a treat dispenser and if they peck my boots, food will come flying out of my hands.
