what a breed !!!

hi everybody,
i have 5 black star hens, 1 black star roo, 1 barred rock roo , 1 leghorn hen and two welsummer hens and one roo, so, what is the best breed can i have from these ??

Well if you are talking breed, then stick with the Welsummer roo. And cull the other two roos.

The Welsummer roo will make designer chickens with the blackstar hens and the leghorn.

I would just breed the Welsummers...

I don't know if I would bother hatching any mixed Welsummer-Black Stars or -Leghorns, but if you are curious, have the space and the time, go for it!

I agree with getting rid of the other roos - I don't know why you would want to mix BS or BR with Welsummer hens. If you are REALLY curious, REALLY have lots of time, etc. you could keep the BR roo and cross with the Wel-hens. Otherwise you have all of the other crosses covered with the Wel-Roo + other hens (BS, Leg, and Wel).

but last month, i hatched 8 chicks all of them black sex-link by BR roo and BS hen

The leghorn black star cross makes one laying machine..if your wanting egg production and not a show bird they are fantastic.

Yes, the female has to be barred or silver or other dominant sex-linked trait to create a sex-link. You cannot create a sex-link from a sex-linked parent--the females carry the recessive trait and the males are split for recessive & dominant.
