What a day ....sorry long

Here's the words to a nice little Sinatra song that might help you:

So I'm down and so I'm out
But so are many others
So I feel like tryin' to hide
My head 'neath these covers
Life is like the seasons
After winter comes the spring
So I'll keep this smile awhile
And see what tomorrow brings

I've been told and I believe
That life is meant for livin'
And even when my chips are low
There's still some left for givin'
I've been many places
Maybe not as far as you
So I think I'll stay awhile
And see if some dreams come true

There isn't much that I have learned
Through all my foolish years
Except that life keeps runnin' in cycles
First there's laughter, then those tears

But I'll keep my head up high
Although I'm kinda tired
My gal just up and left last week
Friday I got fired
You know it's almost funny
But things can't get worse than now
So I'll keep on tryin' to sing
But please, just don't ask me how

I've had some bad, bad days myself lately but I know they were for "some" reason. I just hope you find peace and comfort during your stress. I would've kicked the turkey killers a___ had I been able to catch him/her. ARrrgggh!!

Hang in there!

Boy, alot of bad stuff has been happening to people lately. BJ - It can only get better! Hope it all works out OK for you.

That poor turkey, did she make it?

I once had a simalar incident like this a long time ago. I was working at a fast food place and we had this large glass window in front facing a busy street. Well as we all know mama mallards don't always pick the ideal places to raise their young. This mother and newly hatched ones were crossing this busy street. Well most slowed for her and let her pass, but this insensistive woman just plowed into them without stopping. It was the most horrible thing I have wittnessed. Well somehow she slowed and rear-ended the car in front of her. The witch then had the nerve to stop by our place and ask to use the phone! The mother and some of the babies were killed and my manager had the glorious duty of picking up the dead bodies. Other people were scooping up the surviving babies to take to the nature center. I always keep a watch out for all animals. Although I do think squirrels have a death wish ha ha. It is deer season/rut time and I am especially wary of deer when I get out of work at 12:00 am. I see all kinds of animals running around skunks(which I really wouldn't want to hit!), deer possums and racoons.

All serial killers started their madness with animals. It's sad and frightening to be in the world with such vulgarity and contempt for life, sorry for the truly awful day you just had, sometimes I'd like to live in a bubble filled with chix.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I had to go in to sneak some of my papers out of work. Seems everyone has been told not to speak to me or they will lose their jobs.

But I believe what goes around comes around. Full moon, turkey getting hit/killed (he swerved in the opposite lane to hit her), and losing my job--the events of yesterday went full circle. Being native, I wonder if the Creator decided to test me--and I somehow made it thru. Thank goodness for seat belts and good people. I have decided to hold my head high and move on from here.
Thank you everyone. Think I'll go treat my hens a little extra today.

I did quick Google Search:

As an animal totem, the turkey is called the "giveaway eagle" or the "life giver." Thus, it is associated with shared blessings, harvest, fertility, grounding and self-sacrifice.

Turkey was also sacred to the Mayas and Aztecs. The Aztecs used him as a representative of Tezcatlipoca (Smoking Mirror) under the name of Chalchiuhtotolin, (jeweled turkey) which conferred good luck on his people.

Turkey feathers are used in lots of native crafts especially talking feathers and for smudging...
Don't know why I'm telling YOU this, bjcoop...you most likely know this...

Since Turkey stands for sacrifice, maybe she sacrificed herself for a specific reason...maybe so that when you went into work and got handed a pink slip (grrr) that you would be so upset by her, that you wouldn't cause a scene...as for the car, Goddess knows.

My Tlaloc was wiped out by a lady who wasn't paying attention and now I have Xicohtencatl who's a very nice car herself...she popped up at the dealer's when I had given up getting another car...

I still think the jerk or anyone who intentionally tries to harm an animal needs help or a whipping depending on whether I get ahold of them.

You never know what the Great Spirit has in mind...

Oh I hope it gets better for you soon!
