One of my brown EE hens 'broke camp' from the mutt pen and made a nest out at the edge of the woods under a tarp next to the woodpile.

I moved her and her 16 eggs to a rabbit hutch last week for their safety.
I had candled the eggs earlier and *predicted* they'd hatch this week (comparing the development to eggs I'd set.

They are right on time (by my candling). Got 4 black chicks so far that are most likely EE x Araucana (since this was an 'unplanned mating', the chicks may have multiple fathers.

Wouldn't you know it, all sixteen eggs have hatched!
All smut black chicks!
I guess I'll be building her and the chicks a run today. I really hate to let her raise the chicks tho, she's so flighty and that will make for more flighty birds.
