we have a trapper that comes out here to trap raccoons along the river, he caught over a 100 last year on a 5 mile stretch of river. Anyway, I was talking to him about trapping coyote(s) and asked if tuna fish would work to attract them. He said it certainly would, "It'll attract every Coyote for miles..."
Moral of the story is to bait a trap with something the vermin likes, but will not necessarily bring in every one of them for miles. Thankfully we do not have possums around here, but Raccoons really like fresh corn, and it does not put out much of a scent, so it does not attract new ones, just entices the the ones lurking about. Kinda like those stupid fly trap bags, we had a few flies UNTIL I put one of those stupid things out, then we had 10 gazillion!!! Apparently the story and advise he gave me did not sink in entirely...
just food for thought... Glad to hear that you did kill the little bas.. buggar!!
