O.K. Carri -you win - Stupid's feet are uglier. But....Cousin It is still a baby (only 3 months old) and hasn't grown his manly chest hairs yet - who knows maybe he'll have ugly hairy legs too.

The skin on Cousin It's feet is so pale and see through and then there are those liver spots that look like an old man's hands.

Stupid did have some little pin feathers in his feet when he was a baby. But man... those are some ugly feet, aren't they?

Hi Carri - thought I would give you an update on Cousin It.

I awoke this morning before sun up hearing something. Took me a minute to realize it was CROWING. I grabbed a flashlight and ran out to coop and peeked in and I'll be darned if Cousin It isn't standing in middle of coop floor crowing. He's not quite 4 months old. He's also been coming out of the coop each morning running alongside a horrified female who is screaming and trying to get away because he has her by back of neck. Today hubby and I were inside and heard one screaming like something was killing it. We both run outside to see what's going on and yep, Cousin It is at it again. He's got one by back of neck and she's dragging him in an effort to get free. I told hubby he was going to have to have the birds and bees talk with poor Cousin It because his wooing skills leave a lot to be desired. He's not going for the pullets in the Valentine Day hatch he's from, in other words his own age, nor the one year old hens, he seems to like young red heads and keeps going for the RIRs which are only 3 months old.

Does Cousin It sound like a dying rat like Stupid did? He was crowing at about five weeks old and it was the most awful sound! LOL
You know... Stupid really amazes me sometimes because he is so easily distracted. My other roo, Kip, won't leave his ladies for nothing, but Stupid will run off for any ol' reason. He'll go over to Kip's coop to give the stink eye through the fence while his ladies are out freeranging by themseves.

He'll even follow me down to the hay barn. I have no idea why.

I love hearing about Stupid's adventures in romance! I think he's cute even if he does have feathery feet.

Jack (previously known as Fausty) has feathery feet and look like his. Dorothy who I think is a boy - oops wrong name, will be Dumpling - has the poofy face, beard, and the 70's disco legs.

Mr Green Bean still sounds like a party horn. Captain Lafitte has a very nice crow. He stays within 6 feet of Millie, except when its time for sleep. He did give his ladies a meal worm today. I was so proud of him acting chivalrous like the roosters I read about.

Actually Cousin It has a pretty good crow - what I thought was typical rooster crow - maybe just not as loud and full. But he did wait till almost 4 months and none of the other three roos from that batch are crowing or trying to rape the ladies. None, including Cousin It, are trying to herd them up or protect them yet. But it was Cousin It who I first caught trying to shag a little one when they were only 4 weeks old so in that respect he did start early.

Oh ladies I just want to thank ya all for sharing as I really needed this thread today. I am laughing till I cry and my son (16) just shakes his head. He just doesn't understand chicken humor. He is however really happy with the banties so I have hope of him becoming a chicken farmer. He also is starting to go out and check on my bigger chicks as well and always has a hand in the brooder LOL.

I have one of those crazy looking chickens also. It should be an Araucana but a Cochin hopped the fence or something cause it has very feathered feet. It does have the rump and tufts of an Araucana though. It's just a few weeks old and I love it but it's not what I was sold as a hatching egg. Luckily I was only interested in getting some fun colored eggs and not show birds out of the eggs I hatched. I'm gonna put it into my EE flock when it's grown up.
